About Seven 61st

Seven 61st exists to empower and uplift veterans.

Seven 61st was built from the lived experiences of those who founded it and the mission is clear: to serve those who’ve served, especially those who’ve been historically underserved.

We welcome and serve veterans from all of our uniformed services. We do not care what their rank was (or is) and we do not prioritize one MOS over another. At Seven 61st, all veterans are treated with the utmost respect and dignity—of which they have already earned by their honorable service.

Seven 61st is NOT a “boys club.” It is a veterans organization that specifically reaches out to our Country’s women veterans. Women are an integral part of our Armed Services and we strive to reinforce their irreplaceable worth. Currently, a majority of the Directors and Officers of Seven 61st are woman.

Seven 61st is NOT exclusive either. Instead, we are specifically focused on being inclusive. We appreciate that a large portion of our veterans are non-White. As you will see below and recognize from our leadership, we strategically aim to serve veterans of all colors, races, and ethnic groups. Currently, a majority of the Directors and Officers of Seven 61st are racial minorities.

Why the Name?

The name Seven 61st is a tribute to the legendary 761st Tank Battalion—an all-Black armored unit that fought in World War II under the harshest conditions, both on the battlefield and at home. Known as the “Black Panthers,” the 761st served with extraordinary courage in a segregated Army, earning a Presidential Unit Citation and helping break through Nazi defenses across Europe.

Despite their heroism, many members of the 761st came home to a country that still denied them dignity, opportunity, and equal rights. Their story is one of unmatched service, perseverance, and resilience in the face of racism and rejection.

Seven 61st honors that spirit.

Our name is a promise to carry forward the fight they started—not with tanks, but with advocacy, connection, and unwavering support for today’s veterans, including non-Black veterans. Like the original 761st, we are committed to showing up, standing tall, and never backing down.

our leadership

Seven 61st is led by a team shaped by lived experience, professional excellence, and an unshakable commitment to those who served.

The organization is guided by a U.S. Army combat veteran and seasoned attorney with a record of fighting for justice both in and out of uniform. By his side is a military spouse who supported his journey from the infantry to the courtroom—bringing unmatched resilience, insight, and heart to the mission. She also has experience supporting individuals with mental health emergencies and ongoing mental health needs. We also boast a seasoned registered nurse who has hands-on experience in the VA . She has seen the frontlines of the ER and sat in the administrative meetings when critical decisions have been made.

Together, our team leads with discipline, empathy, and a mission-first mindset forged through service on every front.
